EARTHQUAKE IN ECUADOR: The death toll from the 16 April earthquake rose to 655, and 41 people missing. Currently there are 39 shelters enabled and 64 temporary camps, with a total of 6,804 families or 29,067 people. A US$ 72.7 million urgent flash appeal was launched to assist some 350,000 people for the next three months.
RAINS AND FLOODS: Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Paraguay and Brazil report floods in various regions due to heavy rains in the last weeks.
LOW TEMPERATURES: Zones that were impacted by recent rains in Argentina, are expected to be affected by low temperatures in the coming days.
